Anthony Chapman

April 11th, 2011

This week on Wednesday (4/13) and Thursday (4/14) nights at 7pm, we have the privilege of welcoming Anthony Chapman from Rock Church in the United Kingdom.  Anthony is in the area this week and as a result of relationship with Mike Paschall, Michael Hindes, and others, he has graciously agreed to come and minister to ECF.

Anthony has been described as a loving and gifted teacher that has a unique ability to paint a picture of God’s love and grace in relating to His people. If you have a friend or acquaintance that desires to better understand the unconditional love of the Father, this week would be a great time to invite them to our meetings.

Again, please be praying about what you might want to do in terms of giving this week and also be praying for Anthony and his message. We look forward to seeing everyone this week.  Also note that we will have activities for the children during the teaching time.

Michael Hindes

March 24th, 2011

Sunday April 3rd will be a great day for our church body. Michael Hindes, who we have relationship with through Mike Paschall, will be coming all the way from Georgia to bring our people a word that God has stirred in his heart. Now it’s not uncommon for those we have connections with to pray for us and let us know what they are hearing regarding our walk with God and one another. However, it is rare that they would be willing to travel over 1000  miles to deliver the message in person.

Please be in prayer for Michael and for our people and what God might want to do in the near future.

Paul

Michael Hindes oversees a ministry called The World Race.

His personal blog is michaelhindes.com.

Psalms 31: 3 For thou are my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy names sake lead me and guide me ( received this verse Sunday but did not know why…until….later)

Sunday Paul gave a very simple, full and informing message. After leaving Sunday, I chuckled to myself recalling the comment that the World Racers sign up thinking they are going to minister and bless and in turn they are the ones getting free, walking in truth and unloading a cross they were not meant to bare.  I thought….”that is just like God” …..

Sunday afternoon would turn my relationship with my God into a deeper understanding of Him on way too many levels to list but this story has a few in it.

Sunday afternoon, a precious 5 yr old was firmly requesting to go to the Bosque to fish. After multiple requests and 2 hours of preparation and coordinating a 4 month old, 5 yr old, 2 teens, a tween and a man that acts like a tween to get out of the house..we finally were on our way. While we were driving, Sammy was singing me his new song: Good morning God Thank you for today I want to be Your servant this I pray. (yes a 5 yr old, “come to me as little children”…..Little did we know……

Upon arriving at the river, we saw a familiar family fishing and joking around. The mom with her tween girl, young son and high school son. They were laughing and joking so much, that unless you knew them, you could not tell who the parent was. They were friends and family:) We know them, from school events and family crossings, but are not super “tight”.  we chatted it up a little (I know you are shocked that I would chat), we laughed a bit and they doubled up on the four wheelers and headed home.

Half and hour later we were packing up mangled fishing poles, captured frogs and of course the camera. We started home and instead of taking the scenic way, Dean lead us to our normal faster rought. As we approached the turn, I instantly noticed the four wheelers standing alone and the onset of ambulances. The mother and son flipped off the four wheeler, no helmets and the little boy had no shoes on due to the wetness from swimming. The mother was on the ground writhing in pain, bleeding from her head, and her arm so swollen with deformation. The daughter did rescue breathing when she first landed because the mom was not breathing. This little girl is amazing! I assessed the young boy and was truly amazed that he was not in horrible shape or worse…. He said that he thinks he landed on his mom first then bounced off. This is just like our God to allow a mother to shield her child from harms way. Our Jesus broke our fall, bearing our cross….parable to me!

After they got mom and son loaded into the ambulance; I looked around to find the other two children. I had finished praying for the mom and son and God spoke so clear…”take them to your house”.  These children barely know our names, never have been over to the house etc. I started to walk back to the truck and I heard HIM again! I immediately went over the the children and asked them where they planned to stay. The oldest son said “we have no where right now”. I asked them if the would mind accompanying us for dinner and sleeping over until we figure everything out. They were relieved.

Over dinner the tween girl said “who knows why God does those things” but if “he did it, then He will fix it”.  Now I got two revelations out of that.  1: most people think that way: God is the ant bully with the magnifying glass and when you start to fry He cools ya down. He causes and eases situations so you will “fear” him…..The #2 thing I got from that is her faith.  For her to outwardly state “He will fix it”; she has faith that our God will fix this and all will be well.  That is MUSTARD SEED BABY!! I knew when she said that; I would have an open door to minster to her about our NON ANT BULLYING God.  I would launch that attack when i tucked her and Ally in for the night. ………

God gave me the eyes through a child to see what unbelievers or “ticket holder salvation only” believers have seeded in their heart. That stuff needs root killer on it with the God is Love plant replacing it! Will I be the lawn man spreading root killer and replacing it with Life giving Living Water from our King of Kings!

The older boy and I had a chance to talk one on one. He, without my prompting, said “I know that God saved my brother today. He should not have landed on my mom first.” He said if this had to happen then God put the right people right where they needed to be in order to rescue my mom fast instead of letting her bleed internally. I love this kids heart…I dont know him from my distant cousins; but I do know this kid has an amazing heart and was pouring out revelation promptings like crazy! My heart stopped for about 5 secounds…..Provision for the Position! God placed us at that moment in time for that particular seed sowing, life giving, ministering and love showing opportuniyt!! Although I struggled getting all of us packed and out the door and then while down there we got distracted throwing rocks and taking photos..we came to that scene at the perfect moment.  FOLKS…our GOD is an ON TIME GOD!! We just have to be willing and ready to take position from the provision and watch that “Time BOMB of Harvest Preparation” explode!

During our talk he was talking about the dislike for going to a school that has alot of judging, because you lack athletic ability, money, car, nice house etc. I told him….”J…., I saw many things today but do you want to hear two that will always stand in my heart forever”? I saw a precious family playing and havng fun at the river. Acting like a bunch of monkeys and laughing like wild cats. This family sure enjoyed and stuck together during the fun times today. Then I saw another thing: this same family entered an uncertain, scarry and horrible accident. I saw the tremendous amount of love you have for your mom and more importantly for your brother and sister. You were protecting all of them, searched endlessly for someone to call 911, never left their side to take care of your own emotions and even after everthing calmed down, you are still sweet to your sister.  Now that is what I call LOVE! Many families today are rich with this world; but you son are rich with what goes on for eternity no wallet in the world can buy this stuff! You all possess the greatest quality of our Lord…LOVE!

Before falling to sleep he thanked me for the hospitality, time and time again. He said he found comfort and was less worried by being at our home. The Psalms 31:3 hit me like a ton of bricks! God is our refuge and fortress…..when all else is crumbling, when all else is lost…..He promises to be our refuge…if we believe His promises..we are righteous like Abraham….Romans 4:3.

The question I asked myself: will I accept provision to lead me in position to be a vessel of Gods refuge for those in need….need of revelation, salvation, prayer, food, shelter the list is forever long…….

I don’t know about you; but I woke up today singing Sammys little song ….Dear God thank you for today I want to be your servant this I pray.

Update on the mother: she is still in SICU. She had a brain bleed internally; they finally got it to stop.  Her arm is shattered seperating the main forearm from the wrist and the elbow. She definitely needs healing prayers. Her name is Patty. She has these three beautiful children to raise and grandchildren to see in the future! She loves her kids more than anything…it is evident! Please lift her up claim healing over every cell, tendon, vessel, organ and bone. I am continually getting updates from J……. I will let you know how our God is working!!

I love you all and just wanted to share a glimpse into the Glory revelealed by our glorious God.  It is truly humbling and exciting!!!

Word from Lorna

March 21st, 2011

I had a strange encounter with the Holy Spirit yesterday.  It was awesome really.  I felt His Presence in a very real way and I was sort-of overcome.  I was by myself in my car and I was praying for….well….a complete stranger.  Odd…I know!  Odd that I was compelled to pray for a complete stranger, and even odder that I was in the car by myself.  But I felt the prompting…so when I started praying…The Holy Spirit showed up!  Tangible!!

The gist of yesterday’s visit from the Spirit for me was that Jesus just wants me to radically love Him.  Not follow rules.  Not please man.  Not work for approval.

JUST…did you get that…JUST radically love Him.  I instantly felt like a new human being…created solely to love Jesus.  It was refreshing…amazing…and actually one of the most FREEING experiences ever.

You see…JUST radically loving Jesus frees me up to quit clamoring for attention.  It frees me up to not need so much from PEOPLE, so I can let some folks off the hook. JUST radically loving Jesus frees me up to quit judging or critiquing others and checking to see if my views and their views align.  JUST radically loving Jesus frees me up from trying to be holy!   It takes away the pressure to be and say and do what other people will find as righteous and religious.  YUCK!!!!  JUST radically loving Jesus gives me permission to be the Lorna that God created…not the Lorna that the world created

Now…don’t get me wrong.  I know that JUST radically loving Jesus will require work and obedience. But it will be HIS work and HIS rules and HIS ways and HIS heart.
AND…I will be HIS!

And THAT is so RADICALLY liberating!

Lorna

Wednesday (3/16/11) Prayer

March 15th, 2011

We will have corporate prayer this Wednesday night at 7:30 pm. All are encouraged to attend

Tom McPherson

March 9th, 2011

I want to encourage you all to be at ECF this Sunday the 13th to receive what Tom has to bring to us. Many years ago Tom and Janet helped bring a group of people together to plant the church you now call home. Tom has walked in both victories and struggles those many years, but has always remained a strong, faithful, and wise voice to those he has been called to lead.  Simply put, he is just one of those guys who quietly does kingdom business without drawing attention to himself.  It would be well worth your time to come and get a good dose of truth and wisdom this Sunday. Please be praying that God uses His servant Tom to speak to us this Sunday.

Paul

p.s.  I will most likely be in trouble with Tom for publicly saying so many good things about him!

PASTOR MIKE

February 9th, 2011

We will have two honored guests with us Sunday at ECF. Actually the term guest falls short because they are truly family. Mike and Patti Paschall will be with us this Sunday the 13th and Mike will be bringing the message, word, preaching, or whatever you want to call it.

Mike and Patti began their relationship with ECF several years ago and have since been called into a far reaching global ministry. They see us as part of their inheritance, and most of the feel and flavor of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship today is a result of their Love, Prayer, Teaching, and Sacrifice over the past few years. They remain eternally connected to our body.

So what will you get on Sunday with Pastor Mike? (I say Pastor Mike to goad him because he actually despises religious titles)  There is absolutely no telling. He is unpredictable in his approach to ministry and teaching. What you WILL receive is truth, love, and direction from a couple that have publicly and privately served the Lord for most of their adult lives.

I am very excited about this Sunday in our church. Please be praying for Mike and Patti this week. Pray that Sunday will be different somehow. That the “wind” will blow. That there will be a break-though like never before. Just pray that God will have His way.

Peace and Love,

paul…..

p.s.  This has totally been a “hook” to try and get you in the building on Sunday. No shame here!

Wednesday (2/9/2011) Night Prayer

February 8th, 2011

We will have corporate prayer this Wed. (2/9/2011) at 7:30pm. All are invited to attend. In case of poor weather, we will move it to Thursday night. An email will be sent out in that event.

UPDATE: Prayer time has been rescheduled for Thursday due to the bad weather.
