podcast problems?

Are you having problems with your podcast?

Issue #1:
If you are using iTunes, please remember that if you do not listen to the podcast for several weeks, iTunes will quit downloading new episodes automatically.  If this happens, you will see a small circle with an exclamation point in it next to the podcast title like this:

podcast help 1

If you see this, just click on the little circle/exclamation point and you will get this dialog box:

podcast help 2

Just click “Yes” and iTunes will continue downloading podcast episodes.

Issue #2:
If you are using a Mac and iTunes, you may be unable to download the podcast episodes dated between 8/3/2008 and 11/30/2008.  This is due to a bug in the Mac version of iTunes that does not allow spaces in the podcast file URL.  Prior to 8/3/2008 our server software fixed this for us.  In this date range it did not and went unnoticed because it does not affect iTunes on Windows.  I’ve fixed this issue beginning with the 12/7/2008 episode.  I cannot go back and fix the these broken ones or all of our Windows users will get duplicate copies due to the way iTunes checks the podcast for new episodes.  Mac users who wish to listen to episodes in this date range may still go to the podcast page (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/PaschallPodcast) and click on the link directly and listen.  Rest assured, the podcast will work fine on both Mac and Windows going forward.
